What is in your patient's mouth today must be identifiable tomorrow.

Restoration ID gives every implant-supported restoration a permanent digital identity — created at the moment of fabrication, carried by the patient, readable by any authorized professional years or decades later.

The problem

Implants last decades. Their records don't.

An implant can stay in place for thirty years. During that time, the patient moves, the dentist retires, the laboratory closes, software changes, files disappear. The technical identity of the work — implant reference, connection, prosthetic components, screw, materials, digital files — is scattered across parties who will not all be there when it is needed.

Surgeon

places the implant — lot, reference, connection

Clinician

prescribes the restoration — record stays in the practice

Laboratory

fabricates — components, materials, digital files

Patient

often knows none of the references

Years later, a new clinician faces the same question every time:
"What exactly is in this patient's mouth?"
The regulatory signal. In Europe, implant traceability is already an obligation: the MDR requires manufacturers to provide an implant card to every patient. But that card covers the fixture only — not the prosthetic components, not the restoration, not its history. That gap is where Restoration ID lives.
The solution

One identity, three layers, born in the laboratory

Every restoration leaves the lab with its complete identity record: a structured document plus a QR code linking to the digital file. The data is captured where and when it already exists — during fabrication — instead of being reconstructed ten years too late.

Three lifespans, three identities, one linked history. The implant may outlive several restorations; the interface may be retained. Each layer keeps its own record, connected to the others.

The history is a journal. Events are appended over time — repairs, maintenance, replacements — and never overwritten.

References and lots in the clear. Manufacturer, system, Ø × length, connection, Ti-base, screw, torque value, framework, layering ceramic, shade, digital files.

How it works

Four steps. No added friction.

The record is built from information the laboratory already handles: the work order, the components ordered, the lots received.

1

Fabrication

An implant-supported case enters the laboratory with its prescription and components.

2

Documentation

References, lots and materials are recorded once — under five minutes per case.

3

Delivery

The restoration ships with its Restoration ID: a document and QR code handed to the clinician.

4

Continuity

Years later, any authorized professional retrieves the exact identity of the work in one scan.

No patient names ever reach the system: records work on the laboratory's own pseudonymised case references.

The trust principle

Uncertain data is never presented as fact

Every field in a Restoration ID carries its provenance — source, author, date. A professional reading the record knows exactly what is proven and what is not.

Verified — confirmed by a manufacturer document (label, certificate, UDI).

Lab-documented — drawn from the laboratory's fabrication file.

Declared — reported without documentary proof; awaiting confirmation.

Undocumented — the information is missing, and the system says so rather than inventing it.

Uncertainty is data, not a defect.

For laboratories

A commercial argument, not an administrative task

Differentiation

"Every restoration delivered with its digital identity." A standard of service your competitors do not offer.

Instant answers

A clinician calls about a case from six years ago? The answer is one QR scan, not an afternoon in the archives.

Structured fabrication records

Your own internal traceability — components, lots, materials, protocols — becomes findable.

Premium image

The document travels with the work like a certificate, making the quality of fabrication visible to clinician and patient.

Pilot program

Become a founding laboratory

We are opening the program to a small number of partner laboratories in Europe and North America. You shape the tool; you keep permanent founding conditions.

01

Your first 20 cases

Restoration ID records produced with you on real cases, no commitment.

02

Honest measurement

Entry time, clinician reactions, perceived value — shared numbers, not sales talk.

03

Decide together

If the value is demonstrated, your founding rate is locked in. If not, you keep your records — they are yours.

About

Built by a ceramist, not by a software company

Restoration ID was started by Sylvain Herbin, a dental technician and ceramist with 26 years at the bench, specialised in layered ceramics and full implant-supported restorations. The project comes from a problem lived daily in the laboratory — not from a market study.

Based in Caraquet, New Brunswick, Canada. Working with laboratories across Europe and North America.
